As per the guidelines of the Alameda County Public Health Department, Community Care Licensing (California Department of Social Services), the State of California Department of Education, and the Centers for Disease Control)

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Procedures
  • Drop-off and pick-up will always be administered by a teacher
  • Parents need to bring their own pens to sign in/out.
  • All parents/caregivers MUST wear a face covering during drop-off and pick-up.
  • Parents are not allowed inside the facility due to Covid situation
  • Drop-off and pick-up will be held at the facility entrance maintaining social distancing.
  • Teacher will conduct a morning health check (temperature will be taken with a no-touch thermometer and health questions about exposure to COVID-19 will be asked).
  • Once the child has been cleared, the classroom teacher will meet the child in the entry area to escort them to the classroom.
  • The child will be taken inside the school after they are done with their hand washing.
  • No more outside toys are allowed
  • Child with fever must stay home and cannot return until he/she has been fever free for 48 hours without the need of medication
  • Children with Covid-19 symptoms or any contiguous illness must stay home until medically cleared.
  • If a child has fever, please screen at home twice a day.
  • If any of you (be it parent/child) are exposed to covid-19 please keep your child at home for 14 days.
  • Please continue to follow CDC guidelines to help keep your family safe.
  • Fever (100 degrees or higher) – Child needs to be fever free for 48 hours without medication.
  • Common symptoms are fever, tiredness, dry cough, runny nose, respiratory problems, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, tummy pain.

Social Distancing in Classroom
The Little Butterflies Covid guidelines
  • Each classroom will consist of 10-12 children and will not be mixed with other classrooms.
  • Teacher will remain solely with assigned classroom and student will be stable with that same group each day.
  • Facilities must follow standard guidelines to prevent the spread of disease, such as social distancing when feasible in the preschool setting, more intensive infection control measures like health screening, more frequent handwashing, and surface cleaning.
  • Teachers will always wear mask.
  • Students above 2 year old are encouraged to wear mask for best practices. But children above 3 year old are required to wear mask and can remove it during eating and sleeping.
  • Reconfigure classrooms to put six feet between children’s activities stations, tables, and chairs.
  • Children will be encouraged to maintain distance during circle time and small group activities.
  • Each child will have an individualized Ziplock or box with their name on it to prevent sharing of toys and other materials.
  • One classroom will be taken at a time to outdoor, so no two groups are in same place at the same time.
  • We currently offer Prepacked foods options since family style food option is discouraged due to covid-19.
  • Nap time cots will be placed 6 feet away from each other.
Procedure Practiced for Cleaning & Disinfectant
  • We will thoroughly clean, sanitize, and disinfect surfaces and objects that are frequently touched, especially toys and games. This may also include cleaning objects/surfaces not ordinarily cleaned daily such as door handles, light switches, classroom sink handles, countertops, toilet handles, tables, desks, chairs, cubbies, and playground structures.
  • We use EPA-registered, fragrance-free disinfectants. We are guided in the selection of our cleaning products through this page of the California Department of Public Health: https://www.cdpr.ca.gov/docs/schoolipm/
  • When possible, disposable wipes will be provided to staff members so that commonly used surfaces such as keyboards, desks, and remote controls can be wiped down before use.
Cleaning & Disinfecting toys

  • We will not use toys that cannot be cleaned and sanitized.
  • Toys will be cleaned with water and detergent, rinsed, sanitized with an EPA-registered disinfectant, and air-dried or cleaned in a mechanical dishwasher.
  • Mouthed toys will be collected and put immediately in “Mouthed bin” to be cleaned at the end of the day.
  • Toys will not be shared with other groups of children or between individual children, unless they are washed and sanitized before being moved from one group to the other or being shared between children.
In case of Public Health Emergency:

If “The little butterflies” childcare be forced to close down temporarily because of a Public Health Emergency/ Government Agencies, for outbreak of Coronavirus/ Shelter in place/ Pandemic then we will have to respect the county decision and close temporally. In case this happens and if parents have paid the fee in advance for that month will not be refunded since it’s a county/ state emergency and not my personal choice. If I am open and you choose to keep your child home more than a month then we will be charging 50% of our normal fee to hold the spot. If parents don’t want to hold the spot, then please give a two-week notice so we can give the spot for the child who requires the spot. For parents who don’t pay to hold the spot we cannot guarantee to give the spot back to you.

Health and Safety Supplies and Materials

The following supplies and materials will be on site throughout the preschool program:

  • Face masks – single use for each day
  • Face shields
  • Gloves (non-latex)
  • Smocks and shoe covers for staff
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Cleaning disinfectant and sanitizer – spray and wipes
  • Compostable plates, cups, and utensils for food service
  • Prepackaged snacks to be served by teachers to each child
  • Bins to hold each child’s individual play materials/supplies

Each child will have an individually prepackaged kit of the following:

  • Craft supplies including crayons, markers, scissors, etc.
  • Dramatic play items.
  • Play dough and art materials.
