Job Summary:

The Infant and Preschool Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children between the ages of 6 weeks to 5 years in a child care center. The candidate must have experience working with young children and the ability to provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn and grow.

Responsibilities:

Create and implement daily lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate for infants and preschoolers
Provide a safe and secure environment for children by supervising and monitoring all activities
Encourage and facilitate children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development
Conduct regular assessments to track children’s progress and development
Communicate with parents and guardians about their child’s progress and needs
Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment
Attend staff meetings, professional development trainings, and other events as required
Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols

Requirements:

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an early childhood education or related program is preferred
At least 1 year of experience working with infants and preschoolers in a childcare setting
Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate practices
Ability to create and implement developmentally appropriate activities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work as a part of a team

Physical Demands:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Must be able to sit on the floor, stand for extended periods of time, and kneel or crouch at child’s level

This is a full-time position, and the Infant and Preschool Teacher will work Monday through Friday during the hours of the child care center’s operation.
